Dr. Yasmeen Lari Delivered Fall 2026 Lecture at the University of Utah School of Architecture

Dr. Yasmeen Lari delivered a keynote address at the University of Utah School of Architecture’s Fall 2026 First Lecture Series during the AIA Utah Conference on September 17, 2026. She is widely recognised for her work at the intersection of architecture and social justice.

Following her keynote address, Dr. Lari visited the School of Architecture within the College of Architecture and Planning, leaving students and faculty inspired by her work and approach to architecture. She advocates a bottom-up approach that challenges the traditional role of the architect, focusing not on providing resources alone, but on sharing knowledge, developing local solutions and empowering communities to build for themselves.

Her work is a reminder that architecture does not always have to be complicated. Sometimes, it begins with listening to communities, learning from vernacular traditions and finding simple, sustainable ways to support both people and the planet.
